Smile Piggy Logo & Business Card Design
Rebranding Case Study

Smile Piggy is a startup specializing in piglet feeding solutions for modern agriculture. This project documents my branding process—from understanding the company's goals to exploring logo concepts, typography, and visual identity.

As the graphic designer, I initially designed business cards using Smile Piggy's original logo (shown on card design below). After the company attended the 2026 World Pork Expo in Ohio, they decided to reposition their brand to better appeal to a global market. This shift presented the opportunity to develop a new visual identity that aligned with the company's evolving vision and international ambitions.

Throughout the project, I explored logo design principles, typography, and scalable vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator.

Design Process

The company's desired primary brand color was a bright orange, chosen to represent innovation and energy within the agricultural technology space. To complement this direction, I paired it with a darker blue to communicate trust, reliability, and professionalism.

Through initial brainstorming, sketching, and visual exploration, I experimented with different pig silhouettes, forms, and compositions to develop a logo direction that could represent both the company's industry and its forward-looking vision. This process started on paper then later shifted to Adobe Illustrator.

Early concepts explored incorporating additional visual elements, such as gears to represent automation and feeding dispensers to reference agriculture and livestock technology. However, to maintain a more flexible and timeless brand identity, these elements were ultimately explored but not incorporated into the final direction. Instead, the focus shifted toward a simplified pig symbol that could remain recognizable, scalable, and adaptable across different applications. The pig silhouette took inspiration from the company name, Smile Piggy.

The design shown above represents the current logo direction, with future refinements focused on improving typography, spacing, and overall visual balance.

All logo concepts, typography selections, visual refinements, and brand identity explorations presented in this case study were developed by me using Adobe Illustrator.
